Here at Apex, we pride ourselves on being dynamic and listening to the desires of our customers. Each year, we send out a customer survey and hold internal discussions about the direction of fantasy football and how we can improve our product. 2022 is no different, here are our rule changes for the 2022 season.

Redraft/One-Year League Rule Changes

  • All leagues will have two IR spots. This is subject to change, if necessary, depending on COVID-19’s effect on the 2022 season.
  • The trade deadline has been moved back to the kickoff of Week 9.
  • The tiebreaker in event of a tie in the playoffs is now total points scored divided by total games played (including playoffs, not counting bye weeks).
  • Previously processed blind bid requests will now be public.
  • Blind bidding waivers will now process 24 hours after the scheduled start time of the draft, followed by FCFS (first-come-first-serve) waivers opening up.

Dynasty League Rule Changes

  • All new startup drafts will begin with 23 roster spots, 3 IR spots, and a Week 11 trade deadline. In startups, polls can only be implemented to move up the Rookie/Free Agent draft date.
  • Due to COVID-19 concerns, however, all dynasty leagues will have 4 IR spots for the 2022 season.
  • In existing dynasty leagues with a Week 8 trade deadline, the trade deadline has been moved to Week 9 to reflect the 17-game season.
  • The tiebreaker in event of a tie in the playoffs is now total points scored divided by total games played (including playoffs, not counting bye weeks).
  • Previously processed blind bid requests will now be public.
  • To reverse an “auto-renewal”, teams can either not trade any future picks or have equivalent draft capital. Apex has defined equivalent draft capital as having 13 or more total “draft pick points” when adding up the value of your future draft picks together:
    • 1st Round Pick = 10 points
    • 2nd Round Pick = 3 points
    • 3rd Round Pick = 1 point
  • IR violations must be corrected by the annual Rookie/Free Agent draft or June 15th, whichever comes first.

If you would like to participate in a rule change, please vote on our end-of-season survey. We take requests that are made by owners throughout the season and include them to be voted on. At Apex, we want to run the most ideal fantasy leagues for our owners!
